About Me

About me, an art psychotherapist

Who I Am

I am a qualified and experienced art psychotherapist based in Hackney and Islington, North London. I offer individual art psychotherapy sessions and provide art materials for you to use.

I qualified as an art psychotherapist in 2010 and since then have worked therapeutically with adults, young people and children in different settings providing individual as well as group therapy. I’ve worked in many environments including at the adult mental health charity The Studio Upstairs and children mental health charities Place2Be and Unlocking Potential.

I am registered with the Health Professions Council and follow their professional guidelines. I am also a member of the British Association of Art Therapists.

My Approach as a psychotherapist

I work from a psychodynamic perspective, which places an emphasis on an inner world shaped by early experiences and recognises that current problems and difficulties can be linked to our early lives. Whatever your emotional difficulties are, understanding their underlying nature can help to make sense of them. Gaining insight into our relationships with ourselves and others alleviates our suffering and empowers us. We begin to find we have more space around our thoughts and feelings and this enables us to have more agency in our choices.
